GBI Workshop on Human Rights

The Global Business Initiative on Human Rights (GBI) is pleased to invite business practitioners to a workshop on conducting human rights due diligence in supply chains in India. Please find below the details of the workshop:  Date: Tuesday, 8th August, 2023 Time: 9am to 12pm Venue: At the Swiss Residence, Mumbai The workshop is supported by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai and held in collaboration with the Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce India. Please note, at this stage, we are only collecting registrations of interest in attending the Workshop.  The Formal invitation including the agenda, will be sent by the Swiss Consulate General, to the REGISTERED PARTCIPANTS ONLY. • Provide an update on global legal developments on human rights due diligence
• Understand best practices in engaging suppliers
• Explore challenges related to conducting human rights due diligence beyond auditing and getting beyondTier 1

The session will explore going beyond auditing practices in the context of human rights due diligence, as well as engaging deeper in the supply chain. Why participate in this workshop? Increasingly, conducting human rights due diligence on a business’ operations and activities, including their supply chain, is becoming a matter of legal compliance. Globally, legislation is requiring companies to either report on or actually conduct human rights due diligence on their supply chains: Who should attend this workshop? While Managing Directors and CEOs are encouraged to attend this workshop, we would also like you to reach out to your colleagues in Procurement or Legal/Compliance functions to attend this workshop.
