Swiss Luxury Retailer Richemont Plans India Stores

NEW DELHI (WSJ)—Compagnie Financiere Richemont SA, the Swiss company behind the Cartier and Montblanc brands, wants to open stores in India, a senior Indian official said Thursday. The company’s head of tax, Anne Guimond, met Trade Minister Anand Sharma and discussed plans to spend $25 million to create a wholly owned subsidiary in India, said the official who was present at the meeting.
