The Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter “SICC“, “we” or “Controller“) is aware that the security of your personal data (hereafter “Personal Data“, see definition under 2. below) from the use of our website is an important concern. We take the protection of your Personal Data very seriously. This Privacy Statement explains which data we collect and how we use and protect the data collected. This Privacy Statement applies to any Personal Data that we collect on our website.

The constant development of the internet requires occasional adjustments to this Privacy Statement. We retain the right to make changes when necessary.

 

1. Information about the Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce

The SICC is an association that aims to promote trade, investment and entrepreneurship in general between India and Switzerland.

4. Collection of Data

You can use our website without actively disclosing Personal Data. You are not required to actively provide Personal Data as a condition of using our site.

However, as part of the standard operation of the website, certain data might be collected automatically or passively from or about you in connection with your visit to the website. For more information about how we use cookies and other similar technologies please see our Cookie Notice.

Data, which is collected automatically or passively from or about you could possibly lead to your identification, but it is not used for that purpose.

You may furthermore actively provide Personal Data through registration. In such a case your Personal Data will be used to contact you in case of updates and news concerning the SICC, to handle registration and execution of SICC events and for the publication of a membership directory.

Should you provide SICC with Personal Data of third parties (e.g. signing up guests for an event) you confirm that you have the necessary consent by those third parties to do so.

With regard to the Personal Data actively provided by you, we rely on technical and organizational means to assure that applicable data security regulations are followed.

 

 

5. Processing of Personal Data / Transfer of Personal Data

The Processing of your Personal Data is generally carried out by the Controller at the Controller’s operating offices in Switzerland. Moreover, your Personal Data may be accessible to external parties (not belonging to the SICC) (such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as data processors by the Controller. We use among others for our newsletter services Mailchimp (https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/). The updated list of these parties may be requested from the Controller at any time.

We will retain control of and responsibility for the use of any Personal Data processed by us. Your Personal Data may be stored or processed at computers located in other jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from the Swiss standards. In such cases, we will ensure that appropriate protections are in place to ensure that your Personal Data is protected appropriately from a Swiss law perspective. In case you have questions relating to your Personal Data and potential transfers of your Personal Data and the protections taken connected to such transfers, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail to the Controller of your data (info@sicc.ch).

Your Personal Data will not be passed on by us or by our data processors for use by third parties in any form whatsoever, unless otherwise stated in the Cookie Notice  or we have obtained your consent or we are legally obliged/entitled to do so.

 

6. Purposes of Use

The Personal Data that you actively provide us with,will only be used for the purpose for which you provide such Personal Data i.e. to contact you with regard to updates and news concerning SICC, to execute events, invoice event participation fees, handle registration or the publication of the membership directory, except where otherwise provided by law. The SICC uses technical and organizational security precautions to protect your Personal Data from manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security procedures are continuously revised based on new technological developments.

The SICC reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Statement at any time. It is strongly recommended to check this page often and consider the date of the last modification listed at the bottom of this document. The processing of Personal Data is in line with the Swiss privacy laws.
