Event Details: 

This session is designed to present a synopsis of the Budget proposals announced on February 1, 2017 with the theme of“Transform, Energise and Clean India”.

The annual Indian Budget proposals are likely to have a significant impact on Swiss companies currently doing business in India or proposing to invest in India. Specific focus of this session will be to highlight the impact of these proposals on Swiss investments into India.

Mr. Gaurav Mehndiratta, Partner, International Tax & Regulatory Services, KPMG India, and Mr. Reiner Denner, Partner International Corporate Tax, KPMG Switzerland (Zurich), will present their key findings of this analysis in Switzerland and would broadly cover:

Macro economic indicators highlighting opportunities for Swiss companies:

·         The state of the Indian economy and way ahead;
·         “Ease of doing business” , “Make in India” and “Digital Economy” initiatives of the Government;
·         Infrastructure thrust and Life sciences;
·         Impact of Demonetization on the Indian Economy;

International Tax issues impacting Swiss companies:

·         GAAR/ BEPS/ Place of Effective Management guidelines impact on foreign investments;
·         Forthcoming Goods and Services Tax (GST)
·         Permanent Establishments (PEs);
·         Tax Administration reforms.

Mr. Mehndiratta and Mr. Denner shall also be available for individual meetings after the presentation to discuss the aforesaid.
