DESCRIPTION:The Embassy of India (Berne)\, the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (India)\, and the Swiss Indian Chamber of Commerce (Zurich) are jointly organising the ‘India Global Connect’ from 10 am–11:15 am CET on 26 November 2020 (Thursday) on a virtual platform. \nContext \nThe current global pandemic situation is having an unprecedented impact on the global economy. Imports and exports of various products have been tremendously impacted. The pandemic is also having a huge impact on the G & J industry\, and there has been a serious strain on the companies throughout the value chain. In order to cater to the marketing\, sourcing and promotion needs of the G & J industry\, one such possible solution is hosting a virtual B2B buyer seller conference of gems & jewellery. \nIndia Global Connect \nThe platform under the brand ‘India Global Connect’ is an effort to understand current business scenarios with respect to the Gems and Jewellery sector and conduct discussions between the manufacturers/exporters/importers of both countries\, so as to initiate a dialogue\, explore trade opportunities and project India as a viable sourcing destination. The platform will provide the participants with information regarding tariffs\, challenges and opportunities in Switzerland and India and can act as an ice breaker in terms of meetings between buyers and sellers digitally. \nFormat \nThe event will be a Panel Discussion with 8-10 Panelists each from Switzerland and India.
